What Are the Characteristics and Applications of Anti-Infiltration?

Characteristics of RO Membrane Technology

It can effectively remove ions, molecules, organic colloids, and bacteria in water, and is suitable for treating water with high salt content. The membrane separation device is simple and easy to achieve automation. RO membrane technology has high desalination rate and water reuse rate. The ro membrane separation process needs to be carried out under high pressure, so high-pressure pumps and pipelines need to be equipped in the process. The energy consumption of reverse osmosis membrane separation is low and unchanged, and it can be carried out at room temperature, so it can be used for separation and concentration of heat-sensitive materials. To prevent membrane fouling, the raw water needs to be pre-treated and all indicators meet the standards before entering the RO membrane separation device. During the separation process, membrane fouling is prone to occur, so the membrane needs to be cleaned regularly.

Applications of Reverse Osmosis

  • Seawater desalination: The reverse osmosis seawater desalination technology has many advantages such as low equipment investment, low energy consumption, and short construction period. With the increasing scarcity of fresh water resources, many countries have regarded using reverse osmosis membranes for seawater desalination as an important way to obtain fresh water, especially in the water-scarce Middle East region.

  • Treatment of brackish water: Brackish water generally refers to natural water, surface water, and self-flow well water with a salt content of 1000 to 15000mg/L. Due to the high salt content, it cannot be directly used for industrial and agricultural production and people's drinking water, and must be desalinated before use.

  • Preparation of pure water and ultrapure water: In terms of industrial water use, reverse osmosis separation technology is mainly used for desalination, decolorization, and impurity removal.

  • Water for biopharmaceuticals: The preparation of pharmaceutical pure water and the separation, purification, and concentration of protein enzymes and vaccines all use high-molecular membranes as the core component of the separation process.

  • Industrial wastewater treatment: ro membrane technology is widely used in power plant circulating discharge wastewater treatment, printing and dyeing wastewater treatment, heavy metal wastewater treatment, and acid wastewater treatment in mining areas, landfill leachate treatment, etc., thereby achieving nearly zero discharge of factory wastewater.

  • Municipal wastewater treatment: The deep treatment of urban sewage usually uses the secondary or tertiary discharge liquid of the sewage treatment plant as the water source, and uses reverse osmosis for the final desalination, removal of COD, BOD, trace organic matter, and heavy metal ions, and the effluent quality can reach drinking water standards.

  • Food processing: Mainly used in the processing of dairy products, fruit juice, and wine. Household pure water: Mainly used in various household pure water machines, hospital, laboratory pure water devices and other small systems.
