Assistance of Ultrafiltration Membrane for Healthy Development of Industry

Ultrafiltration membrane efficiently extracts chlorogenic acid, and promotes the healthy development of the industry

Chlorogenic acid (CGA) is a type of phenolic acid composed of caffeic and quinic acid, which is widely distributed in dicotyledonous and fern plants. Among them, eucommia, coffee, honeysuckle, chrysanthemum and other plants have high content of CGA. In addition, apples, carrots, kiwifruit, wheat, potatoes and other fruits and vegetables also contain chlorogenic acid. Chlorogenic acid has many biological activities such as antibacterial, antivirus, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, blood lipid and blood sugar lowering, and immune regulation. At present, chlorogenic acid with multiple effects has become a research hotspot of natural products, and has been widely used in the food, medicine and other industries.

Chlorogenic acid is highly soluble in solvents such as ethanol, water, methanol and acetone. In industrial production, it is generally extracted from plants, but still contains a large amount of impurities to be processed. In order to effectively overcome the shortcomings of traditional processes, ultrafiltration membrane(uf membrane) technology can remove polysaccharides, proteins and other macromolecules in the chlorogenic acid extract, while small molecules such as chlorogenic acid can penetrate through the membrane. Then, the uf membrane is used for membrane concentration, and the concentrated solution of the concentrated membrane has high content and purity of chlorogenic acid, and nearly no chlorogenic acid can be detected in the permeate of the concentrated membrane, which can be used as process water for reuse or membrane treatment.

Nanofiltration or ultrafiltration membrane maintains minerals in water

Mineral water is generally raw water from city tap water, and harmful substances such as sediment, rust, and bacteria are removed by technologies such as ultrafiltration membrane (uf membrane) and nanofiltration to retain the beneficial and appropriate minerals and trace elements in the water, which is called mineral water. Mineral water contains some trace elements required by the human body. Mineral and trace elements in the human body are important components and necessary for maintaining life activities. They are used to maintain body fluid and electrolyte balance, balance physical activity and muscle contraction, and improve nerve cell excitability and enzyme activity, etc.

Normal healthy people need to ingest appropriate minerals and trace elements through various channels every day to ensure the balance and integrity of human nutrition, and some minerals can only be supplemented by drinking water. Therefore, mineral water containing appropriate minerals and trace elements is more suitable for long-term drinking than pure water.

The filtration methods used are ultrafiltration and nanofiltration (only reverse osmosis can be used in areas with high risk of raw water contamination, and after the raw water quality meets the standard, it is replaced with nanofiltration or ultrafiltration), and the water quality filtered by ultrafiltration membrane (uf membrane) and nanofiltration is the mineral water suitable for long-term human consumption.
