Against the backdrop of the "dual carbon" goals and the energy transition, energy storage is playing the key role of a "router" in energy distribution, and batteries, as flexible reservoirs, are nurturing a trillion-level super market. Solid-state batteries, this underlying revolution concerning safety and performance, are reshaping the future of the new energy industry with overwhelming momentum.
On 18 August, at the 2026 Fourth China Solid-State Battery Technology and Industry Development Conference, Dr. Huang Jilong of Jiuwu Hi-Tech delivered a keynote speech titled "Dual-Wheel Drive: The Collaborative Development Path of Oxide Electrolytes and Lithium Sulfide". He provided an in-depth interpretation of the company's core strategic layout of "oxide electrolytes + high-purity lithium sulfide" running in parallel, and introduced the latest industrialization results, capacity layout and future development tracks of the company's core solid-state battery materials.
Conventional liquid lithium batteries use flammable organic electrolytes and carry thermal runaway risk under extreme conditions. Solid-state batteries use solid electrolytes, fundamentally eliminating leakage and fire hazards, with performance achieving leapfrog breakthroughs: surface temperature in nail penetration tests can be controlled below 40°C, and theoretical energy density is expected to exceed 500 Wh/kg, thoroughly solving the "range anxiety" of new energy vehicles.
Technical route | Ionic conductivity | Characteristics |
Polymer | <10⁻⁶ S/cm | Low conductivity at room temperature; limited application |
Oxide | >10⁻⁴ S/cm | Best overall performance; the key to current breakthroughs |
Sulfide | ~10⁻² S/cm | High conductivity, but cost and safety control are difficult |
The industry is currently accelerating the "oxide + polymer" composite solution, balancing safety and processability; looking further ahead, sulfide electrolytes are the ultimate technical high ground for all-solid-state batteries.
As a pioneer of inorganic solid electrolytes, Jiuwu Hi-Tech has built a deep technical moat in the oxide system. For LATP (lithium aluminum titanium phosphate) nano powders, three models are offered, fully covering core battery manufacturing steps:
0.1-0.3 μm - Dedicated for cathode blending
0.5-0.8 μm - Suitable for separator coating
0.8-1.0 μm - Used for electrode sheet surface coating
Powder / slurry dual form - Flexible delivery options
On core indicators, Jiuwu LATP performs excellently: ionic conductivity ≥1.3 mS/cm, moisture ≤1000 ppm, and magnetic impurities strictly limited to ≤100 ppb. Addressing the industry pain point that LLZO readily reacts with water, Jiuwu has launched a water-stable LLZO: after 7 days of environmental exposure, ordinary slurry severely coagulates and blackens, while the Jiuwu product remains uniform and does not discolour, with conductivity stable at ≥0.4 mS/cm.
22.8° - LATP separator contact angle (better than boehmite at 33.5°)
0° - Complete spreading after 3 seconds; excellent wettability
Safety and cycle life are the touchstones. In the national standard nail penetration test of 1 Ah NCM811//Gr pouch cells (SOC 95%), batteries using Jiuwu oxide electrolyte separators performed excellently; LATP can also mitigate electrolyte decomposition at high temperature and full charge, reducing irreversible capacity loss. Currently, Jiuwu oxide products achieved pilot-scale mass production and small-batch supply in 2025, receiving good customer feedback.
If oxides are the optimal solution today, sulfides are the necessary path to an all-solid-state future. Jiuwu Hi-Tech has broken through with four core advantages: "low cost, high purity, green, high safety".
≥99.9% - Lithium sulfide chemical purity
≤0.1% - Carbon content
≥90 - Whiteness
1-10 μm - Precise D50 particle size control
In a comparison with competing products in the LPSCl system, Jiuwu lithium sulfide achieved an ionic conductivity of 8.57×10⁻³ S/cm, comprehensively ahead of competitors at 7.85×10⁻³ and 4.68×10⁻³ S/cm. The high-purity lithium sulfide pilot line at Nanjing New Materials Science and Technology Park is under intensive construction, providing ample "ammunition" for all-solid-state R&D verification.
The ultimate competition in solid-state batteries is not merely a contest of individual materials but of the entire industrial chain ecosystem. Jiuwu drives on two wheels of "oxide + sulfide": in the short and medium term, oxide mass production captures the composite solid-state market; in the medium and long term, sulfide breakthroughs position the company on the all-solid-state high ground.
The company was founded by Academician Xu Nanping in 1997 and listed on the ChiNext of the Shenzhen Stock Exchange in 2017; it is among the first batch of national "specialized, refined, distinctive and innovative" little giant enterprises and a manufacturing single champion demonstration enterprise, with a 47% share of the ceramic membrane market, ranking first in China and among the top three worldwide.
In terms of business, the company has built three major segments of "new materials, overall solutions, and production services", creating a highly competitive closed loop across the lithium resource lifecycle: upstream, it adopts fourth-generation "adsorption + membrane" lithium extraction from salt lake brine, with adsorbent capacity increased by 30%-50% and lithium recovery above 90%; midstream, it focuses on core solid-state battery materials; downstream, it deploys battery recycling, achieving efficient separation of valuable components, connecting the complete chain from salt lake resource extraction and battery material manufacturing to battery regeneration and recycling, building a lifeline for the full lifecycle cycle of lithium resources.
Oxide - Phased Capacity Expansion
In the near term, complete large-scale capacity layout and achieve stable batch delivery; in the medium term, expand capacity as demand grows to capture composite solid-state material share; in the long term, strive to become a main supplier in the oxide electrolyte field and hold technical leadership.
Sulfide - Full-Chain Validation
In the near term, complete pilot validation of high-purity lithium sulfide and close the loop from laboratory to production line; in the medium term, enter industrial production and significantly reduce costs through scale; in the long term, plan and build a comprehensive industrial base to fully enable all-solid-state commercialization.
From material R&D to process design, from equipment integration to production operations, Jiuwu Hi-Tech is not only a materials provider, but also a driver and leader of the solid-state battery industry transformation.
