Separation and purification of fermentation broth is an important part of the production process of biofermentation products, which will directly affect the overall cost and product quality and yield. The composition of fermentation broth is very complex, generally containing mycelium, particulate matter, soluble impurity, residual solid bacilli solid culture medium, ash, water and target products, etc. The traditional separation techniques mainly include adsorption, precipitation/sedimentation, solvent extraction, isoelectric point, ion exchange, etc., which are mainly characterized by the problems of low yields, poor control of product quality, complicated processes, long time-consumption, high energy consumption and serious pollution.
