Jiuwu Hi-Tech’s Shandong Yutai Project Won 2025 Water Industry Award

Recently, the results of the 2025 (23rd) Water Industry Enterprise Competitiveness Selection, hosted by E20 Environment Platform, were announced in Beijing. Jiuwu Hi-Tech, leveraging its outstanding performance in the Changqing Industrial Park Wastewater Treatment Plant project in Yutai County, Shandong Province, won two prestigious honors: Leading Enterprise in the Industrial and Park Water Treatment Sector and the People’s Choice Award in the Water Industry. These accolades highlight the company’s strong capabilities and industry influence in the field of membrane-based water treatment technology.

As one of the most authoritative annual awards in China’s water industry, this year’s selection process spanned three months and attracted participation from over 400 water-related enterprises nationwide. The evaluation involved rigorous screening through multiple stages, including corporate applications, online voting, and comprehensive assessments by a panel of expert judges. Companies were evaluated across dimensions such as operational capability, innovation capacity, and high-quality development potential, establishing the award as a key benchmark for industry trends. Since its inception in 2003, this selection has accompanied the industry for over two decades, witnessing the transformation of China’s water sector from a focus on scale expansion to high-quality development.

 Jiuwu Hi-Tech participated in the construction of the Yutai County Changqing Industrial Park Wastewater Treatment Plant EPC project, a exemplary application of the company’s integrated membrane technology in the field of industrial wastewater treatment. Leveraging its full-chain advantages—from self-developed membrane materials, process design, equipment integration, and engineering construction to operation and maintenance support—the company stood out among multiple industry bidders. Its technical excellence, ability to deliver practical solutions, project schedule management capabilities, and extensive experience in industrial park water treatment projects were key factors in its successful selection.

 Faced with multiple challenges—including a tight project schedule (originally planned for six months but completed in three), high construction complexity, and frequent extreme weather conditions—the company’s project team upheld a professional and dedicated approach, working in close coordination with all parties involved to overcome obstacles. Ultimately, they successfully completed the critical task of external water discharge ahead of schedule, while also helping the client significantly reduce operational and maintenance costs. Their efforts earned an official commendation from Yutai County, Shandong Province, demonstrating the “Jiuwu Speed” and “Jiuwu Quality” through outstanding performance.

The project adopts advanced “membrane process + evaporation crystallization” technology to achieve zero liquid discharge (ZLD) of industrial wastewater. The main construction includes key facilities such as equalization tanks, a membrane workshop, and an evaporation crystallization workshop, supported by a 3.35 km tailwater discharge pipeline and related auxiliary facilities. After treatment, the tailwater is discharged into the Yuqing River. This project will enhance the environmental infrastructure of the industrial park, help prevent and control water pollution, and ensure orderly industrial development. At the same time, it will promote ecological environment improvement in the county, achieving economic, environmental, and social benefits, and establishing a solid ecological foundation for the high-quality development of Yutai County. The main technological processes are:

● Pretreatment Process: Equipped with self-cleaning filtration + high-packing ceramic membrane as pretreatment;

● Hardness and Silica Removal Process: Combination of high-density tank + high-packing ceramic membrane + tubular ultrafiltration equipment to efficiently remove hardness and silica from wastewater, while retaining suspended particles, colloids, and other impurities, ensuring stable operation of subsequent desalination processes;

● Desalination Process: Multi-stage RO units (primary, secondary, and tertiary stages) and tubular ultrafiltration equipment form a complete deep treatment system, adaptable to the deep purification needs of industrial wastewater;

● Evaporation and Crystallization Process: Employing a process of freeze crystallization + MVR + miscellaneous salt treatment, ensuring the resource utilization of by-product salt while reducing solid waste discharge and lowering operation and maintenance costs;

● Sludge Treatment: Using sludge pre-concentration + sludge conditioning + plate and frame filter press to reduce sludge volume and lower solid waste disposal costs.

The equipment within the entire system is scientifically configured to specifically address the characteristics of industrial wastewater in the park, balancing treatment efficiency with resource recovery potential. It offers convenient operation with reasonable energy consumption, aligning with the principles of green and circular development.

 Upon completion, the project achieves full collection and treatment of all industrial wastewater generated in the park. The discharged water meets the quasi-Class III standard of the *Environmental Quality Standards for Surface Water* (GB3838-2002), with total dissolved solids (TDS) ≤ 1500 mg/L and sulfate (SO₄²⁻) ≤ 350 mg/L—exceeding the discharge requirements set by the Shandong provincial standard Integrated Discharge Standard of Water Pollutants for Watersheds – Part 1: Nansi Lake and Dongping Lake Watersheds (DB37/3416.1-2023). This helps enterprises within the park meet environmental compliance requirements, promotes green industrial upgrading, and establishes a strong ecological foundation for the industrial sector. Simultaneously, the salts in the wastewater are highly concentrated and then utilized as resources. The sodium chloride produced meets the first-grade index of the Industrial Salt standard (GB/T 5462-2015), and the sodium sulfate meets Class II, first-grade quality under the Anhydrous Sodium Sulfate for Industrial Use standard (GB/T 6009-2014). A small amount of mixed salt is treated as general solid waste. This significantly reduces the park’s operation and maintenance costs. The project stands at the forefront among similar water treatment facilities globally and sets a strong benchmark for the industry.

 As a leading domestic provider of integrated membrane technology solutions, Jiuwu Hi-Tech has built a strong foundation in membrane material R&D, membrane component manufacturing, and system integration. Its business spans multiple sectors, including municipal wastewater treatment, advanced industrial wastewater treatment, seawater desalination, and biopharmaceutical purification.

 This award is not only a recognition of the company’s past achievements but also a motivation for future efforts. Jiuwu Hi-Tech will continue to uphold the philosophy that “innovation is the primary driving force,” deepening its commitment to membrane-based water treatment technologies and promoting the implementation of more benchmark projects. By injecting new momentum into the development of China’s environmental protection industry, the company will deliver higher-quality products and services, contributing its “Jiuwu strength” to the high-quality development of China’s water sector. In doing so, it will support the achievement of the national “dual‑carbon” goals and serve as a guardian of clear waters and lush mountains.
