Jiuwu Hi-Tech Successfully Hosts the Third (2025) Nanjing Brine Forum

On November 27, the Third (2025) Nanjing Brine Forum, themed “Intelligent Brine Management, Carbon-Neutral Future,” officially commenced. As a premier event for the chlor-alkali industry and brine treatment sector, this forum focused on the innovative application of intelligent technologies for efficient brine resource utilization. Aligned with China's dual carbon goals, it explored new pathways for green development, drawing over 200 guests from chlor-alkali producers, salt manufacturers, environmental design institutes, research institutions, and industry associations nationwide. Participants gathered to discuss technological innovation and sustainable development.

At the opening ceremony, Jianbing Dang, Party Committee Secretary, Chairman, and General Manager of Jiuwu Hi-Tech, and Shoute Zhang, Deputy Secretary-General of the China Chlor-Alkali Industry Association, delivered their respective addresses. In addition, numerous industry experts and corporate executives attended the event. Through keynote speeches, dialogues, and other formats, they engaged in in-depth exchanges on key topics such as innovation in brine treatment technology, pathways for low-carbon transformation, and collaborative development of the industrial chain, contributing wisdom and building consensus for the advancement of the industry.

In his address, Jianbing Dang stated that over the nearly three decades since its establishment, Jiuwu Hi-Tech’s ceramic filtration membrane products and integrated equipment have broken foreign "bottleneck" monopolies and were recognized by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology as a national champion product in manufacturing. The company has not only achieved a comprehensive breakthrough in core technologies but also built globally leading technological and market barriers, accomplishing the leap from "passive catch-up" to "active leadership" in overcoming technological constraints.

As of now, Jiuwu Hi-Tech’s inorganic membrane filtration process has been applied in the primary brine treatment of the chlor-alkali industry, with a cumulative scale exceeding 22 million tons, accounting for 42% of the market share. In the field of nanofiltration denitrification, Jiuwu Hi-Tech secured the membrane-based denitrification order for India’s largest ion-membrane caustic soda project—an annual production capacity of 750,000 tons of caustic soda. This order also represents the world’s largest single-line membrane-based denitrification project.

Accelerated Technical Equipment Upgrade, Marked Results in Brine Purification

n his address, Shoute Zhang noted that China's chlor-alkali industry currently maintains a stable development trajectory. As of now, domestic caustic soda facilities are largely operating at relatively high capacity. In terms of downstream demand, the alumina sector provides substantial support for caustic soda consumption, while industries such as printing, dyeing, and chemical fibers show moderate demand. The proportion of caustic soda used in the new energy sector is steadily increasing. Domestically, the liquid caustic soda market has experienced an initial notable rise followed by a gradual decline.

He added that while the Chlor-Alkali Industry Association holds an annual Caustic Soda Technology Conference, the limited duration and broad scope of topics prevent in-depth discussions on brine-related technologies. In contrast, the Brine Forum organized by Jiuwu Hi-Tech focuses specifically on the brine sector, gathering industry experts to share experiences and exchange insights. This dedicated platform has played a positive role in advancing technological progress within the brine treatment domain of the chlor-alkali industry.

Process & Application Dual Advancement: Jointly Exploring New Pathways in Brine Technology

This forum focused on brine treatment technology, serving as a strong catalyst for advancing caustic soda production technology. It will help enterprises achieve energy conservation and cost reduction in brine processing stages, enhance production management standards, and collectively elevate the industry's technological and managerial capabilities in brine treatment in China. The morning session featured technical presentations in the process-specific segment, while the afternoon included in-depth exchanges in the application-focused segment. Eight speakers delivered insightful presentations covering cutting-edge topics such as innovative brine purification processes, optimization of membrane separation technologies, environmental protection and emission reduction solutions, and practical applications of intelligent control systems.

Additionally, the forum facilitated the sharing of operational experiences in brine purification and nanofiltration denitrification technology, as well as a roundtable dialogue on refined management of brine and saltwater treatment. By concentrating on brine treatment technology, the event strongly promotes the advancement of caustic soda production processes. It supports enterprises in achieving energy conservation and consumption reduction in brine treatment stages, enhances production management standards, and contributes to collectively strengthening the overall technological and managerial capabilities of China’s brine treatment sector.

Meanwhile, active interaction took place between the speakers onstage and the audience offstage, with the guests earnestly addressing each question raised by attendees.
