Recently, the highly anticipated Moscow Chlorine and Its Derivatives Forum was held in Russia. As an important platform for technological exchange and industrial cooperation in the global chlor-alkali industry, this forum brought together numerous chlor-alkali production enterprises, engineering service providers, and technical experts from Russia and Eastern Europe.
Jiuwu Hi-Tech was invited to participate in this forum, where Cai Yubing, Deputy Manager of the Chemical Division, delivered a keynote speech titled "Highly Efficient and Cost-Effective Membrane Treatment Technology for Brine in the Chlor-Alkali Industry." Currently, Jiuwu Hi-Tech has built a fully automated intelligent production line for alumina ceramic membranes and nanofiltration membranes. Its products and technical solutions have been successfully implemented in 182 chlor-alkali projects worldwide, supporting a total caustic soda production capacity of over 24 million tons per year. These projects are located in multiple countries, including China, India, Vietnam, Kazakhstan, and Indonesia, demonstrating the company's strong capabilities in overseas project design, complete equipment supply, and implementation services.
At this forum, Jiuwu Hi-Tech prominently showcased its core technology: the ceramic membrane primary brine refining process. This technology adopts a novel coupled process of "precipitation reaction – ceramic membrane separation," which completely overturns the drawbacks of traditional brine refining processes, such as numerous equipment, complex operation, and large footprint. Through a highly integrated system design, it achieves one-step refining of crude brine, significantly shortening the process flow and reducing operational energy consumption. Verified by actual projects, the effluent quality consistently meets high standards of calcium and magnesium ion concentration ≤ 1 mg/L and suspended solids ≤ 0.5 mg/L, fully satisfying the stringent feed water quality requirements of ionic membrane caustic soda plants.
It is particularly worth mentioning that the main body of Jiuwu Hi-Tech's complete equipment is made of full titanium material, offering excellent corrosion resistance and structural stability, with a service life of up to 20 years. In multiple already-operating projects, such as Cangzhou Lingang Jincheng Chemical and Yunnan Yunjing Linpaper, the ceramic membrane modules have been running continuously and stably for over 10 years, fully validating the reliability and durability of the technology. To meet the needs of different raw brine qualities and operating conditions, Jiuwu Hi-Tech offers differentiated product options: conventional alumina ceramic membranes provide excellent anti-fouling capability and chemical stability; while silicon carbide ceramic membranes can withstand extremely corrosive environments containing hydrofluoric acid. Their high porosity and three-dimensionally interconnected pore structure ensure high flux and easy cleaning, making them particularly suitable for treating complex raw brines with high impurity content, such as Russian mine salt and lake salt.
Green and Low-Carbon: Technology Supports a Win-Win for Both Benefits and the Environment
In addition, Jiuwu Hi-Tech's self-developed nanofiltration membrane products can further achieve deep softening and organic matter removal from brine, effectively improving product quality and providing technical support for extending the industrial chain through the resource utilization of chlor-alkali byproduct salts, helping enterprises achieve a win-win situation in terms of green and low-carbon development as well as economic benefits.
Given the industry current situation in Russia and Eastern Europe—abundant salt lake resources, complex raw brine compositions, and increasingly stringent environmental regulations—Jiuwu offers customized solutions for both the on-site renovation and upgrading of existing chlor-alkali production lines and the provision of full-process EPC services for new large-scale caustic soda plants. Through modular design and automated control systems, technical transformations can be completed while minimizing production downtime and construction periods, significantly reducing customers' investment costs.
Technology Going Global: Breaking International Monopolies and Advancing Advanced Separation Technologies "Going Out"
Leveraging its successful experience in implementing projects in neighboring countries such as the 300,000 tons/year caustic soda project in Kazakhstan and the 100,000 tons/year caustic soda project in Vietnam, Jiuwu Hi-Tech has accumulated rich expertise in cross-regional project management, adapting to different fields and customer needs, and technical services. This has earned high recognition from local chlor-alkali enterprises in Russia. During the forum, several well-known Russian chlor-alkali manufacturers engaged in in-depth technical exchanges with Jiuwu Hi-Tech, reaching preliminary cooperation intentions on topics such as optimization of brine refining units, resource utilization of high-salinity wastewater, and comprehensive development of brine resources, laying a solid foundation for further expansion into the Eastern European market.
During the forum, Jiuwu Hi-Tech also showcased its current flagship ceramic and organic membrane products, which attracted significant attention from industry customers. Jiuwu Hi-Tech has always been committed to breaking international monopolies with domestically developed membrane technologies and continuously advancing China's advanced separation technologies to go global. The company has established a comprehensive global service system, capable of providing full life-cycle services covering preliminary process design, core equipment manufacturing, on-site installation and commissioning, and subsequent operation and maintenance support, ensuring the long-term stable operation of projects.
This appearance at the Moscow Chlor-Alkali Conference marks an important step for Jiuwu Hi-Tech in deepening its globalization strategy and expanding into the Eastern European market. Looking ahead, the company will continue to focus on technological adaptation and innovation under special operating conditions such as high cold and high corrosion, constantly optimizing its core ceramic membrane and nanofiltration technologies. With more efficient, more energy-saving, and more environmentally friendly solutions, Jiuwu Hi-Tech aims to help the chlor-alkali industry in Russia and Eastern Europe achieve cost reduction, efficiency improvement, and green transformation, while continuously enhancing the brand influence and voice of "Intelligent Manufacturing in China" in the global chemical industry.
