Application of Membrane Separation Technology in Broth Wastewater Recovery

The broth is rich in nutrients, mainly containing high-quality protein, dietary fiber, fat, cholesterol, thiamine, vitamins, minerals, and essential amino acids for human body. It has the effects of improving anemia, nourishing the kidneys and strengthening bones.
At present, most people believe that the nutritional value of the broth increases with the prolonged cooking time, but this is not the case.
Because the cooking time is too long, the amino acids in the food will be destroyed, most of the nutrients will be lost, and the purine and fat content in the soup will increase with the extension of the cooking time.
People drink the broth that contain high purines. Some of the purines are metabolized into purine bases in the human body, which constitutes the body's genetic material, but the part that exceeds the body's metabolic capacity is deposited in the body's joints, which can cause gout.
With the improvement of green ecological awareness and the tightening of environmental protection policies, enterprises are required not only to produce qualified products safely, but also to discharge the wastewater up to standard. At present, membrane separation technology has been substantively applied in the treatment of broth wastewater.
Broth wastewater mainly contains some residual minced meat, protein, fat, minerals, etc., which does not meet the discharge standards. At present, most companies use filter press or tube centrifuges for separation, the residue is buried or processed into feed, and the equipment is disassembled and cleaning is more frequent, the processing cost is higher, and resources are wasted. Therefore, the introduction of membrane separation technology is crucial to the development of broth wastewater treatment.
The membrane is a discontinuous interval between two phases. One degree of the three-dimensional measurement of this interval is much smaller than the other two degrees, and its thickness is far less than the length or width. Membrane is a kind of material with selective separation function. Membrane separation technology refers to the selective separation of mixtures of different particle sizes when they pass through the membrane.Membrane separation technology is a physical separation and does not change the material composition.
Cross-flow filtration is adopted in membrane filtration. The feed flows by cutting the surface of the membrane. and small molecules subtances penetrate through the membrane surface by pressure difference. At the same time, due to the scouring effect of the fluid, the feed components are difficult to adhere to the membrane surface, thereby slowly reducing membrane pollution.
After many experiments,  membrane separation technology is used to separate and concentrate the broth wastewater. The permeate from ceramic membrane is clear and transparent without precipitation. The permeate is filtered by RO membrane. The purified from RO membrane reaches the level of deionized water, and the conductivity is relatively low and recyclable. The water reuse rate reaches about 60%. Therefore, compared with traditional technology, membrane separation technology has irreplaceable advantages.

The process flow is shown as follows:

Application of Membrane Separation Technology in Broth Wastewater Recovery

Broth wastewater contains not only oil, but also protein and other substances, and the COD content is often high, so it's difficult to treat. The use of new membrane separation technology can not only recycle the broth residue, but also the water reuse rate can reach 60%. As a new type of membrane separation technology, it has been applied in food, chemical industry, bioengineering and other fields, and the effect is very remarkable. The use of membrane separation technology to separate and concentrate products is a trend in the liquid separation industry, which plays an important role in promoting the technological progress of food industry.
