<h1>Advanced Materials and Technology for More Efficient Industry and Healthier Lives</h1><p>Jiuwu’s mission is familiar to many of us: “Making industry more efficient and life healthier through advanced materials and technology.” But what does it really mean in practice?</p><p>I am Zhang Xu from the Jiuwu Research Institute. Through a project I personally participated in, I would like to share how this mission takes shape in our work.</p><h2>One Adsorbent Material, One Industry Bottleneck Addressed</h2><p>In 2023, I participated in the Wukuang Salt Lake raw-brine lithium extraction project. The customer was using a conventional extraction route with low efficiency, a long process cycle and output that had struggled to increase.</p><p>After the team joined the project, we repeatedly refined the formulation and optimized the structure. In the end, we developed a new high-performance lithium adsorbent suited to raw-brine extraction. This is what Jiuwu does: using breakthroughs in materials and innovation in technology to solve industry bottlenecks and real customer challenges. This is the meaning of “advanced materials and technology” in our mission.</p><p>Once the new adsorbent was applied, separation performance improved substantially. The process was simplified, while energy and material consumption were reduced. The process no longer required salt-pond evaporation; the lithium-extraction cycle was shortened by two to three years, and lithium losses were reduced by more than 35%.</p><p>That is how we help make industrial production more efficient.</p><p>The impact extends further. By upgrading materials, we help customers produce green materials for new-energy applications, support energy saving and carbon reduction, and contribute to better environmental outcomes. In the end, technology serves everyday life and society.
